Large muscle play indoors

On cold and blustery days when we cannot go outside to play we are sooo fortunate to have our large muscle room in which we can run, jump, slide and climb.

We are encouraged to keep our running feet in check until it is time to go to the large muscle room.
We form a long train and walk all the way to the far end of the centre and behind the last door is the coolest room ever, a climbing structure indoors!!!
We are so anxious to get started however before we are let loose we go over the rules so everyone will be safe.

The monkey bars are very challenging. It takes a lot of courage to step off the platform. Even if we can't swing all the way across it is still fun to see how long you can hang on and
when your arms are tired there is a soft mat to land on.

The slide is a favorite and we have found out there is more than one way to go down feet first.

Some of us were unsure of the swinging bridge the first time we went to the large muscle room however in no time we all felt comfortable running over it and bouncing on it.

See how high we can climb on the web. We need to use our large muscles to climb and hang on tight so we don't fall. It can be scary being sooo high but we are all very brave.

After 20 minutes of running, jumping, climbing and sliding we line up for the long walk back to our room. Most of us are very sweaty and our hearts are pumping very fast.

  1. Looks like so much fun! I love seeing and reading about their days, especially if they can't fully explain what they did when asked at the end of the day. This blog is wonderful. Looking forward to the next post!

  2. Decided to read todays blog with Kosten. Having the pictures aided in discussion among him and I. He told me more about "the fossil room" than I have heard thus far. He says his favourite part was running around. We as parents love gross motor play. ;)
